Job Description
The Summer Lift Operations Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of on mountain lifts for mountain biking and foot passenger guests and employees. The Lift Operations Supervisor oversees all aspects of day-to-day lift operations, including loading and unloading bikes on certain lifts, in coordination with department heads, assessed on a daily basis.
This role typically pays around $56,000 actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.
Essential Job Functions
• Responsible for day to day operations of on mountain lifts in coordination with department heads, assessed on a daily basis with emphasis on teamwork, coordination with other departments, proper documentation, and guest relations skills
• Responsible for hourly Lift staff: monitor performance, provide timely feedback, assist with various tasks including hiring, scheduling, timekeeping, discipline and documentation and employee reviews
• Performs the duties of hourly lift staff when necessary, fill-in manager duties as required
• Flexible with schedule to accommodate daily operations, Sunset Tuesdays and special events, as well as covering manager on their days off
• Deals with guest complaints/problems and seeks prompt solutions. Meets with guests and/or follows up with phone calls in a timely manner
• Is proactive in running an efficient, budget conscious operation
• Monitors lifts and personnel for Tramway compliance including all necessary signage and licensing, evacuation procedures, opening, etc.
• Updates lift manuals as required in addition to log books and all related documents
• Conducts and/or monitors training sessions and completes all training documentation required by Aspen Skiing Company and Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board Regulations
• Thoroughly and accurately completes administrative tasks as required
• Responsible for compliance with mountain safety practices
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Valid, current, unrestricted driver’s license required
• Must speak, write and read excellent English
• Computer proficiency required
• Lift knowledge and/or supervisory experience preferred
• Must possess excellent guest service skills
Additional Information
Supervision given and received
Given: Exercises direct supervision over hourly Lift Operations staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, frequent and detailed review of work, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Received: Works under direct supervision of the Lift Operations Manager. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.
Work Environment and physical demands
Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand or be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time
Regularly work in adverse conditions and required to use protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
Must be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
