Asphalt Paving Finish Roller Operator

Asphalt Protectors, Inc. is a highly regarded, thirty-five-year-old asphalt paving & paving maintenance company in California and Nevada. We thrive on being a full-service asphalt paving business with a big emphasis on customer satisfaction and quality products. Some of our services include new paving, asphalt repairs, seal coating, crack filling, and line striping. Our primary clientele includes commercial, industrial, government, and homeowner associations.

Roller Operators run equipment used for tamping asphalt, base, dirt, or other materials to finish grade. Includes break-down and finish rolling for asphalt.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for operating compaction equipment, including vibratory compaction rollers, sheepsfoot roller, single drum rollers, pneumatic rollers (less common), and vibratory plates.
• Inspect, clean, maintain, and make minor equipment repairs or report malfunctions to Maintenance.
• Monitor asphalt temperatures and vibration usage for proper breakdown and finish rolling asphalt.
• Observe distribution of paving material to adjust machine settings or material flow and indicate low spots for workers to add material.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent technical training and related experience required
• Must have basic knowledge of proper operating procedures of multiple types of equipment
• Must be able to apply and retain information
• OSHA 10 Certification (OSHA 30 preferred)
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• At least two years of previous finish asphalt rolling experience is required.

Pay: $26.00 - $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
