About the role

The Human Resources Benefits Administrator plays a dual role in supporting the HR department by managing day-to-day HR operations while specializing in the administration of employee benefits programs. This position ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, supports employees with benefits-related inquiries, and contributes to the overall effectiveness of HR functions.

What you'll do

Benefits Administration

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), FSA, and other voluntary benefits.
  • Manage open enrollment processes, including communication, plan selection, and employee education.
  • Serve as the primary contact for benefits providers, brokers, and employees regarding benefits-related issues or inquiries.
  • Process benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations in a timely manner.
  • Conduct audits to ensure data accuracy in payroll and benefits systems.
  • Oversee COBRA administration, ensuring timely notifications and compliance.
  • Educate employees on plan options, eligibility requirements, and enrollment processes.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable regulations such as ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and COBRA.

HR Generalist Responsibilities

  • Support the onboarding and orientation for new hires by providing training on the benefits enrollment process and being a resource for benefits questions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, both electronic and physical, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Assist with employee relations issues by providing guidance and support to managers and employees.
  • Administer leaves of absence, including FMLA, ADA, and other applicable leave programs.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies and procedures.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives such as training and development programs, employee engagement, and performance management.
  • Requirements :

    Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in HR.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Benefits Administration
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs, policies, and compliance requirements (e.g., ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA).
  • Familiarity with payroll system Paylocity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex benefits concepts clearly.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
