Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, sort, and wash laundry items such as linens, towels, and residents’ clothing.
- Operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment according to safety and cleanliness standards.
- Fold and distribute clean laundry to appropriate areas or residents.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the laundry area, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
- Follow infection control protocols and facility policies related to handling soiled items.
- Assist with inventory management of laundry supplies and notify the supervisor when items need restocking.
- Collaborate with nursing and housekeeping staff to meet the laundry needs of residents promptly.
- Provide respectful and efficient service to residents and their families when handling personal clothing.
- Report any laundry-related issues or concerns to the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role, particularly in a healthcare or long-term care setting, is a plus.
- Ability to operate laundry equipment and follow instructions regarding cleaning chemicals and safety practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to stand, lift, and bend for extended periods; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
