What are the responsibilities and job description for the Career Management Instructor position at Aspire Trade High School?
Career Management Instructor (Grades 9-12)
Job expectations include, but are not limited to:
- Promote a classroom environment that is safe, supportive, and conducive to individualized and small group instruction focused on career preparation and workforce readiness.
- Develop aligned lesson plans and instructional materials that provide students with essential skills in career exploration, employability, and life planning.
- Facilitate engaging learning experiences that encourage students to explore various career pathways and understand their strengths and interests.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student progress in areas such as goal setting, resume writing, job interview skills, and workplace communication.
- Adapt instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special needs, and ensure equitable access to career readiness resources.
- Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting of student activities, achievements, and attendance as required by school procedures and applicable laws.
- Foster strong communication with students and families to encourage parental involvement in career planning and student success.
- Collaborate with other staff members, including academic and trade instructors, to integrate career readiness into the broader curriculum.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and committees to contribute to the school community.
- Build partnerships with local businesses, industry professionals, and community organizations to provide students with real-world career insights, internships, and job shadowing opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications:
- NC Educator's License in Career and Technical Education (CTE), Career Development, or a related field.
- Experience teaching or working with high school students in career development, employability skills, or workforce preparation.
Compensation:
Aspire Trade High School offers a competitive salary that is determined by an individual’s education and experience. Full-time employees will also be part of the North Carolina State Employees Retirement and Health Care system.
