Summary
The Cloud Operations Manager will lead and oversee the operation, optimization, and scalability of our cloud infrastructure. This role involves managing a team responsible for maintaining the reliability, security, and performance of cloud environments across multiple platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP). As a key stakeholder in cloud strategy, the Cloud Operations Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and implement best practices for cloud-based services.
Key Responsibilities
The US base pay is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, education, training, licensure or certifications obtained. Market, location and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates may be eligible to receive a bonus tied to achieved results.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, deployment, and management of cloud operations, ensuring 24/7 availability, performance, and security of services.
- Oversee the design and implementation of cloud solutions to meet business requirements, ensuring scalability, cost-efficiency, and high availability.
- Manage and mentor a team of cloud engineers, fostering professional growth and skill development.
- Establish and enforce policies, procedures, and standards for cloud governance, cost management, and compliance with industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA, NIST).
- Drive automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives to streamline cloud operations and reduce manual overhead.
- Collaborate with security and DevOps teams to implement robust monitoring, incident response, and disaster recovery plans.
- Analyze and optimize cloud expenditures, providing insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Maintain a roadmap for continuous improvement in cloud services, incorporating new technologies and best practices.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of cloud services with existing systems and applications.
- Prepare and present operational performance metrics, including uptime, cost efficiency, and security posture, to executive leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required (may be willing to substitute directly-applicable work experience in lieu of a four-year degree).
- Minimal 7 years of experience in cloud operations or IT infrastructure, including 3 years in a leadership role is required.
- Cloud Expertise: In-depth experience managing cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, with strong knowledge of cloud-native services.
- Automation: Proficiency in automation tools and IaC (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible).
- Monitoring & Incident Management: Familiarity with tools such as Prometheus, Datadog, or equivalent.
- Compliance: Understanding of regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, NIST, or HITRUST.
- Networking: Knowledge of virtual networking, firewalls, and VPN configurations within cloud environments.
- Proven experience leading technical teams, with a focus on collaboration, mentorship, and performance management.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- High level of organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
- Preferred certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect
