Description
Responsible to provide assessment, job development, skills training, work experience, job shadowing and/or job coaching to clients enrolled in Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.
Requirements
1. Protects and safeguards all confidential information about its clients, propriety information on ASPIRO and its operations. Confidential information should only be shared on a 'need to know basis' in order to perform their job.
2. Helps create an environment that supports learning, social interaction and positive relationships. Assists with crisis prevention and intervention.
3. Conducts initial assessment to determine client's needs, preferences and abilities for integrated/community-based employment. Assessment may include work experience or job shadowing.
4. Assists clients with all aspects of preparing for a job, examples include but are not limited to, contacting potential employers on their behalf, writing resumes, interview skills, etc.
5. Maintains open and professional communications with individuals, Employment Services staff, families, funding sources, employers and the business community as needed to meet employment goals.
6. Conducts task analyses of client job duties and responsibilities.
7. Provides on-site training and utilizes fading techniques to withdraw from site when appropriate; promotes use of natural supports in the workplace.
8. Provides on-going support to the client at the work site based on the individual needs of the client to promote job retention. Negotiates work related issues with employer.
9. Coordinates communications with parents, residential providers, DVR counselors, social workers, etc., to provide information on client status. Submits monthly progress reports in a timely matter.
10. Participates and collaborates with other Employment Services staff to ensure services meets and/or exceeds expectations of clients and funding agents.
11. Obtains and maintains proper authorizations prior to and while providing services.
12. Completes and maintains all related documentation in accordance with the agency standard including; services evaluation data, monthly progress reports, employer contact logs, as well as any additional required documentation.
13. Participates in assigned meetings, professional development and training as required.
14. Responsible for regular and reliable attendance.
15. Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
