Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids Hospital & Clinics is seeking a Emergency Services Coordinator to join our PATIENT REGISTRATION team!The Emergency Services Coordinator is responsible for registering/admitting patients to the Emergency Department and serves as a Unit Coordinator for the department. Due to frequent contact with patients, relatives, and the general public, this position provides many opportunities to positively influence the understanding and perception of hospital services.
HOURS: Occasional 0.01 FTE, Hours and Shifts as Needed
Experience/Qualifications
- High school graduate with course work in business subjects (e.g. keyboarding, office practice).
- Minimum one year work experience in office environment, preferably in a healthcare setting (e.g. hospital, clinic, dental office).
- Prefer some knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficient in data entry/keyboard functions as demonstrated by typing a minimum of 5,000 keystrokes per hour with 98% accuracy.
- Ability to operate office equipment, such as but not limited to: copier, scanner, fax machine.
- Basic computer operations skills (keyboarding and mouse use, Internet browser use, opening and closing programs).
- Able to process e-mail (read, send, delete, file).
- Projecting and modeling a positive customer service attitude.
- Verbally communicating clearly, accurately and courteously with the public, medical personnel and co-workers.
- Listening and responding to verbal discussions/directions.
- Remaining calm and working efficiently in emergency situations.
- Following written and verbal instructions/procedures.
- Respecting and maintaining confidentiality of all matters exposed to on-the-job, at all times.
- Accepting and adapting to change including a willingness to learn new skills related to departmental needs.
- Developing and maintaining effective interpersonal work relationships with employees, customers, and management, including cooperation and sensitivity to others needs.
- Focusing on detail; collecting and recording information with a high degree of accuracy.
