Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Operations Controllership Center of Excellence, consisting of segment-dedicated resources based I the Home Office as well as Operations Controllers deployed within Asplundh’s family of businesses. Collectively, this Center of Excellence serves as the primary “bridge” between the Company’s corporate function and field operations for the Finance function (accounting and FP&A), supporting ongoing accounting, reporting and analysis needs as well as discrete field-related project deployment and process & technology enhancements.
• Facilitate and manage field-related accounting activities related to the month-end financial close and reporting processes.
• Analyze decentralized field operating and financial results.
• Key contributor to identify and realize financial close efficiencies to drive the organization to a faster and more streamlined, accurate financial close process.
• Strategic business partner to field operations leadership to support accounting and reporting needs to achieve business objectives.
• Handle other responsibilities, as needed, such as project/system implementation support both within the corporate function as well as field operations.

Requirements:

• BS in Accounting (or similar degree) and CPA preferred, but not required
• At least 5 years of field accounting and operations experience (with ever increasing responsibilities)
• Preferred - Experience working directly with highly decentralized field operations that spans a wide range of geographies
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• A leader who promotes teamwork and collaboration.
• Must be able to delegate.
• Ability to develop a vision of “what could be”, not just focused on “what is/has been”
• Demonstrated ability to execute/drive a project plan to completion, including influencing others and effectively managing their team and others through change.
• In-depth experience using modern ERP’s such as SAP or Oracle is preferred
• Experience with project costing/cost accounting preferred
• Good social skills in dealing with internal personnel, auditors, etc.
