What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Inspector Bridge and Pavement position at ASR INTERNATIONAL?
Responsibilities:
- Observe daily construction activities, ensuring compliance with contract plans and specifications.
- Coordinate critical point, special, beneficial, and final inspections by design staff or other inspectors so work can be approved in a timely and efficient manner.
- Update and Submit Deficiency Tracking List
- Schedule, coordinate and perform specialized field inspections.
- Observe and obtain split samples from the construction contractor as required by the project specifications Section 32 01 13 (Microsurfacing); 32 12 16 (Asphalt); and 03 30 00 (Concrete).
- Ship mix verification samples taken at the source to AASHTO accredited laboratory for the test methods indicated.
- Inspect work at job site for contract and code compliance.
- Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Recommend approvals or rejections of materials and workmanship as appropriate.
- Monitor GC’s labor and safety compliance with regulations, standards and contract requirements.
- Complete written inspections reports.
- Provide site photos and upload them daily into the construction photo management software.
- Coordinate with independent testing service contractors to inspect the Work performed by the GC and arrange site visits between the testing agencies and the GC.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of relevant experience.
- Associates degree in a Construction related field, trade school or an equivalent certification. (Waived for 10 years’ experience in similar inspection role.)
- ICC/NICET, Highway Construction, ACI Concrete, Work Zone Safety and/or other applicable certifications preferred.
- OSHA-30 Certification.
- Experience with Construction Management software.
- Federal construction experience preferred.
- Qualified applicants must be able to pass a background check.
