What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Systems Administrator position at ASR INTERNATIONAL?
The SA will be responsible for analyzing, managing, or performing work necessary to plan, design, develop, acquire, document, implement, integrate, maintain, or modify systems for solving problems or accomplishing work processes by using information technology (IT) systems such as computers, servers, routers, etc. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, troubleshooting capabilities, and coordination with Navy personnel to maintain system operability and is responsible for performing system administration duties, monitoring system operations, providing customer and technical support, and ensuring system integrity within a virtualized environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform system administrator duties of the NALCOMIS OOMA/OIMA systems within the Virtual Environment.
- Set up and maintain system administrator accounts.
- Perform routine and unscheduled startup/shutdown procedures.
- Conduct full system backups of VM servers and ensure data integrity.
- Update Virus Definition files, monitor Virtual Environment for errors, and prepare systems for monthly ACAS scans.
- Monitor interface, system/database logs for errors and maintain system integrity.
- Perform routine processing of batch programs/scripts to produce data/report files.
- Provide assistance to personnel in preparation for their deployment by coordinating hardware and software requirements
- Provide end-user support, assisting personnel with system access, connectivity, configuration, and troubleshooting. Diagnose and resolve problems in response to customer reported incidents.
- Provide host computer hardware, configuration, troubleshoot, perform diagnostics, and system repair with researching and initiating the requisition of spare parts when required.
- Manage and maintain system inventory, including custody and sub-custody of servers at various sites.
Qualifications
- Must possess and maintain professional certification for Information Assurance Technical Level II (IAT-II) positions.
- Experience in system administration, database management, and virtual environments.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting computer hardware, networks, and system interfaces.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong knowledge of backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and retain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
