We are seeking a Junior Software Test Engineer to support a USAF contract at Hill AFB, Utah. The Junior Software Test Engineer supports Operational Flight Program (OFP) software development and modifications by working with other team members (engineers, equipment specialists, Program Managers, etc.) in an Agile development environment.
Responsibilities
Create, modify, and execute manual, semi-automated, and automated tests to verify functionality and safety of 309th developed A-10 avionics software.
Support flight and ground tests as part of the A-10 avionics integration effort in support of the 309th Software Engineering Group
Assist in the implementation of TOs and technical data
Perform lab qualification testing
Support day-to-day DT&E and OT&E tests for OFP software and hardware sustainment programs
Ability to understand and interpret requirements and test guidance to complete configuration item and product-level integration testing
Work in a collaborative, Agile IPT environment
Testing software for performance and functionality based on requirement specification and ability to identify and document exact sequence of activities desired
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline
3 years of relevant experience
Clearance: Must possess an active Secret clearance
Must be able to plan and prioritize personal tasking and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Must be an independent thinker, capable of performing high quality work, both independently and with a team
Experience with Test Driven Development and Automated Testing
Experience developing testing criteria to successfully satisfy requirements
Experience creating and documenting test plans/procedures, analyzing results and creating reports
Ability to work in a collaborative, Agile/Scrum environment
Preferred Qualifications
Professional experience in software development test environment, which may include the following:
Python, XML, HTML, Java Script, Perl, ASP, and/or similar scripting languages
Windows, Linux, Unix, Solaris, VMS, RTOS and/or other operating systems
LabView, ADA, C, C , .Nettechnology, Java, Fortran, Assembly, Jovial, Visual Basic, and/or other programming languages
MIL-STD-1553B Bus Monitor functions and Communication
Automated or semi-automated test development and execution
A-10 avionics
Testing SW for performance and functionality based on requirement specification and ability to identifyand document exact sequence of activities desired
Experience in IBM Rational Team Concert and Microsoft Azure Dev Ops software
Experience in Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery Software Development
