What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Electrician position at ASRC Federal?
ASRC Federal Field Services is seeking an experienced Electrician to support facility operations and maintenance for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Charleston, SC. Under the direction of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrician will provide a wide range of electrical support services across the complex.
Qualified candidates will have a wide breadth of electrical knowledge and have proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing indoor and outdoor electrical systems at large facilities.
Essential Job Functions:
Ability to complete complex projects with minimal or no supervision and complete all phases of electrical work.
Respond to electrical work orders and accomplish necessary repairs.
Estimate material, time needed to complete, equipment needed for various electrical jobs from written plans, oral request, interpret and accomplish tasks originating from blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer installation manuals.
Complete various task generated from a preventative maintenance schedule including but not limited to motors, exhaust fans, emergency lighting, and distribution panels.
Use of test equipment including a multi-meter test set and megger.
Assemble, install, test, repair and maintain electrical wiring including but not limited to buildings, rooms, outdoor pole lighting, landscape lighting, electrical equipment, appliances, and fixtures.
Ability to work with voltages up to 480 volts, work off and operate aerial lifts, knowledge of lockout/tag out procedures.
Must be able to utilize Microsoft office suite functions and have basic computer skills.
Perform other duties and requirements as assigned.
Requirements:
5 years of experience as an electrician working with control systems and relays.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Must be a US or Naturalized Citizen.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
Must be able to pass a background investigation and pass a drug and physical exam.
Must have a valid SC Driver's License.
Must have basic electrical tools.
