ASRC Federal Cyber is seeking an Information Quality Control/Safety specialist at Delta Junction, Alaska.  Conduct recurring safety inspections at GFORCE sites to identify potential safety hazards that are present at specific locations or apply to specific job classifications; and evaluate use of written instructions. Receive, review, and investigate Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) reports of violations. Validate references in the citations, verify the accuracy of findings, determine if hazards or code violations constitute imminent danger to employees or property, and recommend the appropriate course of action to the GFORCE Project Support Manager. Ensure annual and special technical inspections of each site’s fire alarm and suppression system are Provide technical assistance to site staffs on all fire prevention and protection matters. Evaluate the status and overall effectiveness of each site’s fire prevention and protection program. Inspect all fire extinguishers and establish maintenance, replacement, or recharging schedules. Maintain historical records of fire suppression systems. Inspect personal protective equipment (PPE) according to prescribed schedules to ensure it’s available and in good working condition and used as required. Conduct respirator fit tests as necessary. Perform industrial safety evaluations relating to noise, heating and ventilation and chemical hazards Research and evaluate PPE and recommend corrective actions to management. Identify any unsafe acts or conditions and develop and establish suitable corrective measures to manage the risks associated with personal injuries and property damage. Research and develop occupational safety and health, and fire safety training curricula. Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and occupational exposures to biological and chemical agents; identify causes, arrange for testing of employees exposed to hazardous substances; identify sources of hazardous materials; report facts and recommend corrective actions to management. Develop and review written procedures pertaining to occupational safety and health, and fire safety. Monitor, evaluate, and recommend improvements to the project’s occupational safety and health programs. Assist management in establishing realistic and achievable safety objectives that are compliant with the GFORCE Health and Safety Programs and Federal, State, and local regulations. Review work procedures and preventive maintenance instructions annually to ensure they comply with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) or industry standards. Maintain a current library of publications pertinent to occupational safety and health and fire safety.  Plan and coordinate work activities with other GFORCE employees, site staffs, and departments. Understand and follow GFORCE Operating Instructions, Administrative Instructions, Operations and Maintenance Procedures, Task Orders, and Company policies and procedures.  Perform administrative duties and maintain assigned workplace, materials, and equipment in a safe, secure, and neat condition. Handle interactions with the customer and Company employees in a courteous, professional, and effective manner.  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The following physical activities are frequently required of a Quality Control Inspector: balancing; bending; kneeling; squatting; reaching; sitting; standing; walking; climbing; pushing; pulling; lifting; grasping; communicating in person, by phone or through written correspondence; hearing; and seeing. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, loud noise, high places, hazardous chemicals or materials, repetitive motions, and working outdoors in inclement weather. REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED  Must possess two years of related work experience. Must maintain a valid US driver's license. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Must possess strong computer skills, including, but not limited to Microsoft Office products. Proficiency in speaking and writing in the English language to effectively conduct business with industry and Government, including oral presentations and written publications. Be committed to providing for and maintaining a safe working environment. Ability to acquire Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) certification in accordance with the criteria set forth by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals and American Board of Industrial Hygiene within first year of start. Individual is responsible for initial costs associated with obtaining OHST certification. Current certification preferred. Demonstrated experience in quality control, job safety and hazardous materials handling. Demonstrated experience in developing and providing instruction in occupational health and safety. Demonstrated experience inspecting facilities and individuals performing tasks. Identifying, developing and mitigating job site hazards in remote arctic environments. Problem-solving and interpersonal skills to interact with co-workers and customer representatives. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work both in a team and individually.
