We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Air Force Research Laboratory (ARFL), Edwards, AFB, CA. ASRC Federal on the ASTROS Contract is support the nation’s premier Test Facility. ASTROS supports a wide range of Propulsion Test Support. A Senior Mechanical Engineer is needed to ensure the several Test Programs and supported and in compliance with the customer test plans and all State, Federal and DoD Regulations.
Key Role
Must be able to work with ASTROS Project Specialists and stay abreast of work assigned to the personnel assigned to support test projects through from build-up to completion.
Meet and work with the Senior Manager of Projects and ASTROS Safety Manager to ensure upcoming worked is briefed and proper feedback is obtained to ensure success.
Meet with customers and determine workloads and shift resources when needed and submit requisitions for new support personnel as needed.
Provide routine feedback to entire ASTROS Test Leadership.
Must be able to develop relationship with the engineering team and create a strong team environment.
Work independently and communicate progress.
Support the build-up and test execution at assigned Test Sites.
Work with projects by ensuring staff are performing up to expectations.
Support various projects in both technical and managerial roles.
Familiar with Test Software.
Ensure all work is performed through either a Safe Plan of Action or a Work Authorization.
Provide routine briefings to Operations, Safety and to the Site Scheduler.
Assist in supporting senior leadership during a test readiness review prior to receiving customer’s permission to test.
Must be able to gain access to the customer’s computer networks.
Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor
Must have effective written and verbal communication skills
Basic Qualifications
Secret Clearance required.

Basic Qualifications
- BS Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience
- Technical Writing ability
- Demonstrated increase in experience and abilities.
- Must be able to work at heights and depths.
- Work overtime with little notification.
- Must be able to work in extreme hear and extreme cold.
Secret Clearance required.
