Our ideal candidate will be an experienced Industrial Engineer with an Industrial or Mechanical Engineering Degree, 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, prior experience leading/participating in LEAN Transformation, and Six Sigma certification desired. Black Belt certification is a plus. They should have solid experience in going to the GEMBA to collect facts, familiarity with quality systems, packaging, distribution, manufacturing, welding, supply chain, tooling, and machinery design, previous experience in designing manufacturing/warehouse solutions, ability to hold others accountable to ensure project deliverables, excellent communication and time management skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, and ability to multitask and prioritize projects under tight time deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, research, evaluate, and recommend strategic plans, cost-saving initiatives, new processes, and system improvements
- Implement standardized work and teach Lean principles to other team members
- Continually improve processes and cost efficiencies for labor and material costs
- Oversee the design, concept, and purchasing of new machinery, equipment, and tooling areas
- Recommend design changes in existing product lines to promote cost savings and efficiencies
- Improve plant layouts to improve flow and maximize capacity and output
- Design, develop, and champion for manufacturing to be done in the most economical way with the least capital expenditure
- Assist with the preparation of capital budgets
- Participate in a safe and harmonious working environment
