What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internships-Engineering/Manufacturing/Facilities position at Assa Abloy?
Job Requirements
- Develop, document, and improve manufacturing processes.
- Develop quality plans for products.
- Develop and implement corrective action based on root cause analysis.
- Develop lean manufacturing procedures, reduce product lead time, promote visual factory environment.
- Maintain machine and assembly production lines.
- Lead quality improvement efforts through training, communication, and implementation of new processes.
- Prepare manufacturing documentation.
- Coordinate projects.
- Work closely with internal and external customers, as well as vendors to resolve issues and provide technical support.
- Key member of Product Design Team, working with Design Engineers to develop and introduce new products.
- Establish and maintain cellular layouts.
- Lead and direct meetings with other team members and hourly associates.
Knowledge/Skills
- Working towards BS in Engineering and/or Manufacturing or equivalent.
- Lean manufacturing practices (Kanban, Poke-Yoke, JIT, Value Stream Mapping).
- Assembly Operations, Metal Machining processes, and tool design.
- SPC implementation and practical application.
- Ability to think progressively and creatively while keeping the future of the company and its employees in mind.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration capabilities.
- Strong Communication skills (written and public speaking).
