Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Assistant to join the team at our new start up practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting orthodontists in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed, ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate diagnosis.
- Utilize 3D scanners to capture precise dental impressions for treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor vital signs of patients as required during procedures.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the clinic efficiently.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a positive experience for all patients, including those in pediatric dentistry.
Experience
- Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant or in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, and Dolphin software is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with children and adults alike.
