Job Title: Maintenance Upfitter

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: V.P. of Operations

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary/Objective

The Maintenance Upfitter will oversee the maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems. This role will also oversee, manage, and repair various types of manufacturing equipment. The role is that of a senior technician responsible for installing various products into vehicles to test fit and function. They are responsible for helping the customer service team with customers who require advanced technical support. Also responsible for maintaining the demo vehicle of Assembled Products and reporting any necessary repairs beyond normal maintenance.

  • Prioritize maintenance requests. Completing high-priority requests daily and following up on any outstanding items.
  • Inspect grounds and buildings daily to minimize liability concerns and ensure excellent curb appeal.
  • Maintain a preventative maintenance program that extends the life of the assets while minimizing future repairs.
  • Identify and implement energy-saving measures that promote conservation.
  • Maintain a well-organized and properly stocked maintenance shop while adhering to safety standards and OSHA guidelines.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on all equipment based on the manufacturer’s recommendations and operating manuals.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records at all times.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as requested by the VP of Operations.
  • Installation of Jotto Desk brand products into vehicles.
  • Search out and obtain various vehicles to be brought in for product fit and finish testing.
  • Support sales, engineering, and customer service with researching/installation on mounting issues for all Jotto Desk products and notify appropriate person/department on findings.
  • Must be willing and able to talk with customers in person or via phone/e-mail concerning Jotto Desk products as needed when requested by customer service.
  • Assist marketing with the mounting of equipment for photo/video shoots.
  • Inform marketing and customer service of changes to installation instructions as new information is learned.
  • Assist in proactive yearly review of existing mounting solutions and how they will or will not work with upcoming model years.
  • Keep shop and vehicles orderly and clean.
  • Responsible for keeping APC fleet of vehicles clean and maintenance up to date.
  • Assist production with product assembly as time allows.
  • Perform tasks as assigned by Vice President of Operations.
  • Travel locally and cross country as needed. Must have and maintain an excellent driving record.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration from the tools and noise from the pneumatic tools. Forklift traffic. The heat level is high in the summer months. Personal Protective Equipment is required in some positions, such as safety glasses and gloves. Hearing protection is provided but not required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee must frequently use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance. The employee must walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear.

The employee must regularly lift, push, pull, and grip. Must pass a physical fitness for duty test that assesses the ability to lift varying weights essential to job function. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 to 3:30. Occasionally, overtime is required, and the employee must be able to work earlier than scheduled, later than scheduled, and on Saturdays.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of related experience
  • Syteline (Training Provided)
