Role Description
Asset Allies Tax LLC is hiring a highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant with CPA credentials (or equivalent experience) to join our growing remote team. This individual will act as a lead advisor, overseeing tax preparation and compliance work, guiding junior team members, and contributing to process improvements. You will be instrumental in supporting our expanding client base with accurate filings, advanced tax planning strategies, and seamless financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for S-Corps, LLCs, partnerships, and individuals
- Lead and manage complex client accounts with a focus on therapy-related small businesses
- Guide entity structure compliance (e.g., S-Corp elections, 2553 filings, multi-state registrations)
- Maintain accurate books and lead cleanups in QuickBooks Online
- Train and support staff accountants and bookkeepers, offering technical reviews and mentorship
- Provide tax projections, estimated payment planning, and year-round client advisory
- Manage payroll and payroll tax compliance, including W-2s, 1099s, and employer returns
- Collaborate with the CEO and team to improve workflows and implement best practices
- Stay current on federal and multi-state tax laws, IRS updates, and small business compliance
Qualifications
- CPA license (preferred) or EA with extensive experience in business tax
- 5 years of experience in tax preparation for small businesses, including S-Corps and partnerships
- Advanced QuickBooks Online proficiency (QBO certification a plus)
- Experience with payroll, payroll tax filings, and employer obligations
- Strong understanding of multi-entity structures, entity elections, and compliance
- Comfortable leading a team, reviewing work, and mentoring junior staff
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
- Proficient with cloud-based tools and remote collaboration
