Financial Data Analyst

Major bank in midtown Manhattan seeks experienced FINANCIAL DATA ANALYST for long term hybrid contract role.

Seeking a skilled Data Analytics Consultant to support Finance in a critical implementation of an EPM-ENTERPRISE PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT tool and decommissioning existing Oracle-based Hyperion Financial Management (HFM). There is already a system Integrator and a project roadmap in place. You need to have experience in investment banking industry, be skilled in data validation and designing Power BI dashboards. This role requires both business and technical expertise

ROLE:

Partner with finance, IT and 3rd party system integrator to validate data integrity during the one-time data migration, ensuring accuracy in financial records, hierarchies, and reporting structures

Execute data validation and UAT test script reconciling discrepancies between legacy Hyperion data and new system outputs

Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards using data extracted from new system, to automate reporting and deliver actionable insights on revenue, expense, and balance sheet datasets

Train end-users on Power BI dashboards and new system reporting functionalities to support adoption.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, engineering or a related field

3 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a related role in financial services industry

Proficiency in BI tools especially PowerBI and SQL, and writing DAX-data analysis expressions code for complex measures

Good understanding of databases and OLAP cubes, to ingest required data into PowerBI semantic layers

Master’s in Data Analytics or a related field A PLUS

Knowledge of General Ledger concepts SUCH AS profit/cost center, trade books, variable, allocated, direct expenses at an investment bank A PLUS

Experience with EPM tools such as Hyperion and OneStream and ERP tools such as SAP A PLUS
