The Job/What You'll Do:

As AssetMark continues to evolve and expand, we are seeking a Director, Product Management to drive the success of key products within our technology ecosystem. This leader will be responsible for managing one or more product lines, shaping their strategic direction, and ensuring they align with the company’s broader growth objectives. The Director will work closely with engineering, design, sales, marketing, and operations teams to translate business needs into market-leading product solutions.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep technical acumen and a commercial mindset—someone who thrives on identifying market opportunities, defining compelling product strategies, and ensuring flawless execution. They must also be an advocate for user experience, ensuring our products are intuitive, seamless, and impactful for financial advisors and their clients.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to one of our following offices: Concord, CA or Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities

• Product Strategy & Execution: Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for one or more products within the AssetMark technology portfolio.

• Technical Collaboration: Work closely with Product Engineering to define product requirements, ensuring strong technical foundations and scalable architectures.

• Market & Customer Insights: Conduct market research and gather customer feedback to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

• Roadmap Development: Build and maintain a multi-year product roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on business impact, user needs, and technical feasibility.

• User Experience & Design: Partner with UX/UI designers to create intuitive, engaging, and seamless product experiences.

• Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Client Success teams to ensure successful go-to-market execution and adoption.

• Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize analytics, user research, and customer feedback to refine products and optimize performance.

• Stakeholder Communication: Present product plans, updates, and performance metrics to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.

• Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor product managers, fostering a high-performance, customer-focused product culture.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong understanding of wealth management, asset management, or fintech.

• Proven ability to define and execute growth-oriented product strategies.

• Strong technical acumen—comfortable discussing APIs, cloud architectures, and engineering trade-offs with developers.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business insights.

• A data-driven approach to decision-making, leveraging analytics and customer feedback to drive continuous product improvement.

Education & Experience:

• 8 years of product management experience.

• Experience leading and mentoring product managers to build a high-performing team.

• Experience working closely with UX/UI design teams to create world-class digital experiences.

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $150,000-$175,000.

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
