Assist U has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Manager. This position will provide personal growth and the ability to develop your skills in the traffic, construction, and utility industries. Our objective for the current opening is to focus on the selection and development of our team members and by committing to excellence in everything we do.

Experience:
3-5 year of experience in a Human Resources role is preferred. It is beneficial for applicants to have knowledge of the construction industries and/or transportation sector. Experience in an union environment is required. All candidates for this position must have at minimum a high school diploma and meet the experience requirements to apply.

Requirements:

· Minimum of Associate degree preferred

· Knowledge of traffic control, construction, & roadway flagging

· In-depth knowledge in using Microsoft Office; Excel

· Possess effective interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to management and employees

· Effective verbal and written communication skills

· Positive attitude and the ability to be empathetic and flexible

· Computer/Social Media skills required, experience with writing and posting on multiple job boards

· Ability to work in a fast paced culture while remaining focused

· Ability to multi-task, plan work activities proactively, and complete daily tasks or meet deadlines under pressure

· Must have a valid Drivers License with clean driving record (NO DUI's or excessive points).

· All candidates must be able to pass a standard criminal background check and work verification check as well as a standard drug screen and fit for duty physical.

Daily Job Duties to Include:

· Maintain various spreadsheets to track applicants, employees, raises, referrals, Company Reimbursements, etc.

· Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; research and develop new policies to meet the demands of the business

·Support time and attendance program as well as the processing of weekly payroll; reporting Union dues and required payroll reports

· Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records

· Conducts or assists with new hire orientation at multiple locations and States (Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania)

· Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events

· Reviews applications for entry-level positions; scheduling and conducting preliminary interviews

·Work with local Union hall to request and transfer employees that are available to support business needs. As well as, release employees to hall when field work does not support.

· Communicate effectively and efficiently with HR and operations teams on the status of hiring

· Maintain job postings on multiple job boards and utilize social media to advertise hiring events

· Performs administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes, which may include layoffs, resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence

· Assists with the administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, vision, and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers and communicate with the local corresponding Union hall.

· Initiates background screening efforts with new employees and reviews background reports once completed for compliance with company policies

·Help to support the Company drug testing policy and random testing requirements

· Updates and maintains HR spreadsheets with employee change requests, company benefits and processes paperwork

·Maintains ACA requirements correlating with health insurance

·Work to create and maintain employee electronic files in ADP

· Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.

· Conducts various research projects and/or special projects related to field of work

· Schedules conferences by reserving facilities at event centers, hotels and/or restaurants

· Prepares new employee files, makes photocopies, faxes documents and performs other clerical functions

· Performs other duties as assigned

Pay: $70-$90k annually

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
