Shift: Day | Pay Range: $145,000 to $200,000 per year. |
SUMMARY
Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will analyze the organization’s income and expenditures and ensure compliance with regulations. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements for multiple companies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for the detailed review of financial and operational reporting for several business entities
- Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements
- Work with and communicate effectively with all levels of employees to ensure achievement of required organization mandates
- Supervises designated accounting staff which includes training, motivating and evaluating staff to meet high standards necessary for the efficient and professional operation of the department
- Lead effective and timely communication between the audit team and staff during company audits
- Assure adherence to internal control processes and practices
- Provides information and assistance to outside tax accounting firm for the filing of returns
- Prepare and approve journal entries
- Prepare monthly financial statements
- Display a strong work ethic, a motivated self-starter
- Prioritize, multi-task and understand the urgency of assigned deadlines
- Develop and promote effective working relationships with staff and management, as well as internal and external customers
- Maintain and protect company confidential information
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements
- Additional duties as assigned

Experience Guidelines:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA professional certification or equivalent
- Minimum five (7) years’ experience in related field; agricultural, process manufacturing or farming accounting experience a plus
- Proven background and experience with audit methodologies and techniques
- Five (5) years’ supervisory experience
- Advanced level proficiency in MS Excel and accounting packages
- Strong analytical abilities and mathematical skills
- Detail-oriented and have the ability to prepare detailed reports

Working conditions
Work is performed in a typical temperature-controlled office environment subject to typical office noise and environment. Position may require work outside regular business hours, including weekends and occasional travel to other company locations.
