SUMMARY
Reporting to the Division Controller, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for the general ledger, monthly close activities and other related reporting for assigned entities. The role will also be supporting the entire accounting team with a variety of administrative and entry level accounting tasks. The role will provide an opportunity for advancement within the company and personal professional growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for the detailed review of general ledgers
- Support control procedures
- Support employees with general ledger coding
- Perform monthly bank account reconciliations
- General ledger account reconciliation, analysis, and maintenance
- Prepare journal entries
- Maintain depreciation and fixed asset schedules
- Month end closing activities
- Backup AP department
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Special projects and/or other related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY & SKILLS
Knowledge of:
- General Ledger Accounting
- QuickBooks, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel
- Follow directions
- Work independently with minimal supervision and in a team oriented, collaborative environment
- Handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines regularly and consistently while multi-tasking
- Maintain an extreme level of confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills

Accounting Operations: Knowledge of accounting operations including A/R, Credit and Collections, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Fixed Assets, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition to ensure accuracy
Attention to Detail: Completes tasks efficiently and accurately while paying close attention to detail.
Audits: Conduct and/ or assist with audits and inspections of performance and activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in accounting
- Advanced experience with Excel; QuickBooks experience a plus
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented and thorough; strong organizational skills
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a typical temperature-controlled office environment subject to typical office noise and environment. Position may require work outside regular business hours, including weekends.
