Warehouse Supervisor, Dock & Transportation - Hanover Park, IL
The Warehouse Supervisor, Dock / Transportation provides leadership and supervision for dock personnel. Performs the same technical function as a dock worker. Organizes shipping & receiving duties, trains staff on the proper use of the Warehouse Management System and other tasks as directed by Corporate Manager, Shop & Transportation.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Interview and hire, mentor and supervise dock personnel.
- Conducts ongoing performance review and coaching to ensure efficient operations of dock and warehouse.
- Ensures a safe working environment through adherence to company training and safety guidelines.
- Adheres to shipping and receiving procedures including utilization of the Warehouse Management System.
- Ensures proper damage assessments and documentation of incoming equipment and stock orders.
- Responsible for keeping the dock and warehouse organized, clean, and safe from hazards, including regular warehouse health and safety inspections.
- Ensures dock and warehouse tasks are being completed using company standard work documentation.
- Loads and unloads all types of material handling equipment including but not limited to forklifts, industrial batteries, chargers, forklift parts and other specialty equipment from multiple types of tractor/trailers.
- Blocks and braces equipment in OTR trailers for proper secure shipping.
- Uses overhead crane system to lift equipment including forklifts and industrial batteries, as required.
- Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products,10-key, and internal ERP system.
- Skilled in inventory management with the ability to match, sort, and collate data.
- Proven problem solver and decision maker. Makes timely decisions on issues requiring immediate attention.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and apply reasoning.
- Ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize work with attention to detail.
- Skilled in employee management and development with ability to lead and motivate.

Education & Experience:
This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in warehouse dock and management. A strong orientation to detail, organizational skills, and Leadership ability is necessary. Must have previous operator training and experience using a forklift.
