Position Overview: The Executive Director will be highly motivated and experienced to lead our organization into its next phase of growth and impact. The Executive Director will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, overseeing day-to-day operations, seeking continuing funding, and driving the organization towards achieving its mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- The Executive Director will develop and implement a compelling and forward-thinking strategic vision for the organization.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to ensure alignment of organizational goals with overall mission and values.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of programs.
- Serve as a point of contact for all on-site security personnel and surveillance devices.
- Operational Oversight:
- Oversee the high-level operations of the organization, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in achieving programmatic and administrative objectives.
- Implement Board initiatives and maintain robust organizational policies and procedures.
- Provide building activity and building income reports to the Board monthly.
- Report monthly activities regarding programs, grants, leases, special events, staffing, membership, and community outreach.
- Fundraising and Resource Development:
- Lead fundraising efforts by cultivating relationships with donors, securing grants, and developing innovative fundraising strategies.
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities to diversify revenue streams.
- Community Engagement and Collaboration:
- Build and maintain strong relationships and collaborations with key stakeholders, including community partners, government agencies, and other non-profit organizations. The Executive Director is the outward-facing public relations manager on a day-to-day basis.
- Represent the organization at public events and serve as a spokesperson for our mission.
- Financial Management:
- Working with the Chief Financial Officer, develop and manage the organization's budget, ensuring financial sustainability, accountability, and establishing financial controls as appropriate.
- Work closely with the Treasurer and finance team to monitor financial performance and make data-driven decisions. This includes oversight of program budgets, and Invoice review and signature approval.
- Coordinate with the Treasurer and Bookkeeper to pay invoices.
- Market and promote available office space for lease.
- Oversee the administration of leases and other contracts once first reviewed and approved by the Board, and the monthly collection of lease and contract payments. Check with tenants to ensure their office space is fire and safety compliant.
- Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws, rules and regulations, including fire codes, alarms, and insurance policies.
- Working with the Chief Financial Officer, prepare and submit reports to regulatory bodies and stakeholders as required.
- Ensure all staff have completed all required IRS and/or State of Ohio employment forms and maintain all personnel records.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Provide improvements and a dedicated team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. This includes hiring and firing underlying staff as appropriate.
- Notify and collaborate with the Board for all hiring and firing of underlying staff as appropriate. Work with the Board to vet all new hires, including staff contractors and conducting background checks as appropriate.
- Support professional development opportunities for staff members.
- Enjoy working with and/or supervising young athletic groups including basketball, volleyball, football and/or weightlifting.
Qualifications:
- MUST have proven experience in a leadership role within a non-profit organization.
- MUST live in the Youngstown, OH area.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising and resource development.
- Strong strategic planning and organizational development skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Financial acumen with experience in budget development and management.
- Commitment to the organization's mission and values.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in non-profit management or a related field.
Salary: $50,000 plus incentives
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
