The Director of Human Resources role is located at the Associated Packaging, Inc. headquarters in Gallatin, TN. This role will perform all Human Resource and Benefits administration related duties for 200 employees. Develop and maintain processes, procedures, and internal controls to preserve the quality, efficiency, and overall effectiveness of all HR and regulatory compliance requirements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, streamline, and document HR and Benefits processes and procedures
- Review, revise, and administer all employee policies and Employee Handbook
- Assist in leading implementation of HRIS system; retain administrator responsibility of system
- Manage new employee onboarding, I-9 and E-Verification and filing, background check and drug testing authorization and confirmation
- Manage terminated employee off-boarding in accordance with internal processes
- Benefits Administration to include implementation and administration of benefits enrollment, change reporting, auditing, and communicating benefit information to employees
- Manage professional relationships with broker and other third-party administrators in evaluating and recommending benefits programs, plan options and related competitive costs
- Create and perform monthly carrier statement reconciliations
- Manage required documentation for employees on LOA, FMLA and Workers Compensation
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment law
- Assist with writing and maintenance of a Safety Program and Manual, ensuring compliance with all regulatory safety requirements
- Create and administer HR training programs for company-wide management team in interviewing, hiring, terminations, coaching and development plans, performance review, anti-harassment, and discrimination
- Create and update job descriptions and job ads for job posting boards
- Assist all branch locations with recruiting efforts including scheduling college career fairs, online recruiting, and tracking, and collaborating with external recruiting firms
- Create a positive and fun working environment by coordinating employee events, celebration days, community service, and networking opportunities for employees
- Work with Payroll Manager to balance and issue monthly sales partner Commission Statements
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or business-related field
- SHRM-CP or SCP certification preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources and Benefits Administration
- Ability to maintain the upmost confidentiality and professionalism with excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills with a customer-service-driven focus
- Knowledge of multi-state and federal employment laws
- Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements
Competencies:
- Must possess the ability to work independently and manage priorities under tight deadlines to ensure maximum productivity
- Adept at working on multiple concurrent tasks, with constant interruptions, and ability to work with no supervision while performing duties as well as being a team player and collaborative
- Experience with payroll/HRIS system conversions a plus and will be given higher consideration
- Experience using Microsoft Office 365 products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
