Job Title: Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist
Location: Columbus, NE
Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM
Compensation: $20/hour

We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist to join their team. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a strong understanding of accounting functions.
The Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist is responsible for maintaining and supporting the day-to-day accounting operations. This role involves handling accounts payable, accounts receivable and revenue reporting, while ensuring accuracy in financial transactions and timely completion of duties.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general bookkeeping and clerical accounting duties including data entry and record maintenance.
- Establish, maintain, and balance accounting records, logs, files and filing systems.
- Use a variety of accounting software including Sage and MFG/E2 to process transactions.
- Assist the Controller with the month-end accounting process.
- Process invoices for payment via checks or electronic payment and reissue checks when necessary.
- Prepare daily bank deposits and reconcile bank accounts, inventory and credit cards.
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledgers daily to ensure all payments are properly posted.
- Collect delinquent customer invoices.
- Complete other duties as assigned to support the finance department.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or a related field (preferred).
Experience:
- 1-3 years of accounting experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines under pressure.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 20 pounds.
