What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgery Scheduling Nurse-Women's Health Advantage position at Associated Surgeons and Physicians, LLC?
Responsible for scheduling patients’ surgeries appropriately and providing appropriate education to the patient regarding the surgery.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Will participate in scheduling surgeries appropriately and efficiently, providing education regarding the surgical procedure and process, and answering phone calls from patients that require nurse assistance
- Will provide excellent customer service to patients, providers, and staff
- May be asked to perform all necessary patient care duties and clerical duties in an emergent situation
- Serves as a resource for the Medical Assistant staff, and other staff members as necessary
- Participates in meetings as assigned
- Maintains accurate and timely recordkeeping
- Assist in the orientation and training of new surgery scheduling personnel
- Strictly adheres to HIPAA laws and company policies regarding patient confidentiality
- Responsible for other tasks as assigned
JOB TYPE:
- Onsite, 32-40 hours per week (8 hour shifts, M-F)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing required
- Current Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license
- One year or more of experience as a licensed nurse preferred
- Experience scheduling surgical procedures helpful
- Skill in applying and teaching necessary clinical techniques and methodology for desirable treatment outcomes
