Job Title: Mooring Operations Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mooring Operations Specialist to join our team at Associated Terminals. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient mooring of seagoing vessels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Moor and unmoor seagoing vessels in a safe and efficient manner
- Fuel equipment and mooring vehicles as necessary to ensure smooth operations
- Operate wenches and capstans with precision and care
- Assist in using tag rope to moor and unmoor seagoing vessels
- Conduct regular inspections and evaluations of mooring vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition
- Participate in daily mooring operations and report any issues or concerns to the leadman or maintenance team
- Clear trip and fall hazards from all work areas to maintain a safe working environment
- Report all incidents through the company's reporting protocol
- Support company safety initiatives and promote a culture of safety within the team
- Demonstrate knowledge of all required competencies and perform other duties as required
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of experience in a maritime/industrial environment
- High school or equivalent (preferred)
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Basic math skills and ability to follow directions
- Demonstrate radio professionalism in communications
- Prior experience with mooring or stevedoring is preferred
- Able to safely operate mooring equipment
- Proficiency in deck operations
- Thorough knowledge of reporting procedures
- Ability to work rotational shift work
