Position Summary :
Organize, plan, and direct the division accounting activities for the Springfield Division. Work collaboratively with business partners from all levels of management to ensure a clear and concise understanding of the financial results and corresponding drivers. Provide financial analysis and reporting needed by management to make key decisions. Oversee and support division budgeting and forecasting activities, ensuring timely completion of budgeting tasks. Ensure financial activities are performed in compliance with GAAP and in accordance with company policies and procedures. Provide leadership and accounting knowledge to get a project and / or company initiative from the planning phase to the execution phase.
Position Responsibilities :
- Timely preparation, analysis, and review of financial statements and summaries
- Knowledge of various systems and software in order to translate financial impact
- Preparation, analysis, and reporting on key financial variances in support of operational decisions
- Ability to explain and speak to financial results and drivers
- Partnering and collaborating with various business areas to identify opportunities for improvements
- Oversight and coordination of all division budgeting and forecasting activities, providing support and guidance to management and staff while ensuring timely completion
- Monitor and ensure compliance with evolving accounting guidance, collaborating across the organization to ensure consistencies and synergies in processes and controls
- Accurate and timely completion of account reconciliations in compliance with company policy
- Hire, train, and manage division accounting staff
- Provide training and guidance on all aspects of the financials
- Ownership of the financial aspects of projects and / or initiatives including budgeting, cost tracking, and variances analysis. Involves working closely with other project team members and ensuring projects are delivered on time.
