Location: On-site in Shelbyville, KY
The Medical Biller is responsible for ensuring the billing process is completed in an accurate, timely and efficient manner. Daily processing of claims, review remittance advice forms to verify proper reimbursement and submit reconsiderations, appeals as necessary. This position answers billing questions from internal and external customers and documents communication in EMR system.

- Run appropriate billing reports, review denied or rejected claims, file disputes, and submit corrected claims as necessary.
- Understand and learn processes for posting payments
- Follow-up with insurance companies and payors to resolve issues and obtain payments.
- Monitor collection/aging worksheets, manage accounts, and document progress in EMR system.
- Answer telephone calls; address billing questions
- Collaborate with team members on the Revenue Cycle Team and other departments within APT
- Be a team Player!
- Additional projects or duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Education (include, but are not limited to):
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must have 1 year of experience with claims/billing, or coding.
- Ability to handle a high volume of accounts in an office setting.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Prior electronic medical records (EMR) experience.
- The ability to use discretion in handling confidential information.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs at times.
