SLP Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat children from birth to age 21 for speech, language, oral motor, feeding, voice, fluency, articulation, or social communication disorders to achieve the highest level of functioning and prevent regression.
- Work closely with patients, caregivers, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Accurately document treatment sessions as well as progress or evaluation reports in detail.
- Maintains professional/technical competencies and proficiencies for job responsibilities and upholds federal/state licensure and ethical expectations.
SLPA Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Under physicians orders and in collaboration with supervising speech language pathologist, treat patients with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Assist with preparing detailed documentation of treatment provided, length of treatment and progress toward outcomes identified in plan of care.
- Follow treatment and therapy plans recommended by speech language pathologist to suit the individual needs of a diverse population of patients including short- and long-term goals.
- Prepares therapy material and/or equipment for use in therapy activities; adapts or modifies instructional materials and/or equipment as determined by patients needs and abilities.
- Assist with performing screenings to detect communication disorders.
- Help to educate patients, parents, and caregivers, about speech disorders, causes and plan for treatment.
- Report patient progress and status to appropriate parties including family members, caregiver, or medical professional.
Our Ideal SLP Candidate Has:
- Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology and hold an applicable and current, unrestricted license to practice (or in the process of obtaining license).
- New Grads Welcome!
- Associate degree with completion of a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant program from an accredited university.
- Hold an applicable and current, unrestricted license.
- Passed national boards.
- Thorough understanding of speech-related conditions, causes, and treatments.
