The Association for Individual Development (AID) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower people with physical, developmental, intellectual, mental health challenges, those who have suffered a trauma, and those at risk to enjoy lives of dignity and purpose. We are looking for an Associate Vice President of Finance who exemplifies that mission, and wants to work for an organization that makes a difference.
What will you be doing?
The AVP of Finance plays a key leadership role in managing the financial operations and financial planning of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. This position will manage the accounting team and will need to have strong interpersonal and experienced leadership skills.
- Lead financial operations and planning for the organization
- Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate across departments to support financial goals
- Manage the accounting team with strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Supervise Accounts Payable/Receivable, Client Services (Rep Payee), grant and journal management
- Prepare financial statements and internal reports for departments, CFO, and Board
- Perform or review account reconciliations
- Assist in annual budget preparation
- Prepare audit schedules for annual audits
- Cross-train in all finance roles to support coverage needs
- Attend Board Finance Committee and other meetings as requested by CFO
- Respond to internal finance-related inquiries
- Complete other tasks and projects as assigned by the CFO

What will you bring to the Table?
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance/ Master’s degree preferred
- Non-profit experience a strong plus.
- Three year’s relevant experience at a comparable level.
- Strong leadership/management and conflict-diffusing skills desired.
- Familiarity with computerized accounting systems, Financial Edge preferred. Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
