The IT Systems Support Analyst serves as a key member of AMC’s Technology Services team, delivering excellent customer support while playing an active role in managing and maintaining AMC’s IT infrastructure. The role primarily involves advanced frontline help desk support (about 75% of the responsibilities) and provides assistance with system administration tasks (around 25%).

About The Role

Responsibilities:
Advanced Help Desk Support
- Serve as a primary escalation point for complex help desk tickets, providing timely resolution or escalating appropriately.
- Deliver expert-level troubleshooting for software, hardware, and networking issues primarily within Windows-based environments, including supporting web applications hosted on Linux platforms.
- Provide direct support to internal users through various channels, including phone, email, remote sessions, and in-person interactions.
- Create and maintain accurate, thorough documentation, including knowledge-base articles, system configurations, and procedures.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness and user satisfaction.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to the Help Desk Analyst as needed.
- Assist in administering and maintaining core IT infrastructure, including servers (Windows), Active Directory, Office 365 administration, backup systems, and networking equipment.
- Support monitoring, analysis, and optimization of IT infrastructure to ensure reliability and security.
- Contribute to planning and executing scheduled maintenance windows, system upgrades, and disaster recovery tests.
- Proactively engage in professional development to advance systems administration skills (certifications, training programs, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with the Systems Administrator to develop skills and gain practical experience in systems administration tasks
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support after-hours incident response.
- Able to lift and carry hardware up to 50 lbs. as needed for installation and maintenance tasks.
- Work in-office 1-2 days per week.
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in IT help desk or support roles, ideally with exposure to systems administration.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field preferred.
- Industry certifications strongly desired (CompTIA A , Network , Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, ITIL Foundations, etc.).
- Proficient troubleshooting Windows operating systems, with familiarity supporting web applications on Linux-based platforms.
- Experience supporting Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and basic networking concepts.
- Familiarity with system management tools used for software deployment, patch management, and asset inventory (e.g., Microsoft Intune, SCCM, PDQ Deploy, or similar).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Motivated self-starter with a demonstrated interest in advancing into systems administration or infrastructure roles.
- Ability to travel 1-2 times per year by all modes of transportation including car, plane and train.
- Physical: Work primarily involves sitting, talking, hearing, and typing, with visual acuity required for keyboard usage, data analysis, and computer terminal operation. Ability to lift and move IT equipment up to 50 lbs. as needed for hardware installation, maintenance, and workstation setup. - $60,000-$70,000 annually. Within this range, individual pay is determined by relevant factors, including job-related skills, experience, market data, work location, and education or training.
- This is a hybrid role, 1-2 days per week onsite, in Schaumburg, IL.
