What are the responsibilities and job description for the Musical Director position at Association of British Choral Directors?
Rainham Ladies is seeking a new Musical Director to help take our well-established and enthusiastic choir forward. Based in Rainham, Kent, we have 20 enthusiastic members from a range of age groups. We are a well-established (over 60 years), non-auditioned choir and our members enjoy singing across a wide range of musical genres, generally in 3-part harmony. Our current repertoire is drawn from sacred songs, madrigals, classical pieces, songs from shows, traditional songs and more modern popular songs but we are open to trying new and different pieces.Following the retirement of our Musical Director, we are seeking a new Conductor / MD. Fees subject to discussion and agreement.We usually perform at least two concerts per year (Spring and Christmas), plus singing at other events as they arise. Some examples of our recent performances can be found on our Facebook page (Rainham Ladies).We rehearse weekly with a pianist, every Monday (except Bank Holidays and a break for August) at a school in Rainham Kent from 7.30 to 9.00 pm.We would love to hear from potential MDs who would like to join us to help us maintain and develop our high standard of vocal performance and perhaps introduce us to some new repertoire.
