Position Purpose
ASPPH is seeking front-end focused WordPress developer dedicated in-house web development team to deliver innovative software and services for grant-funded deliverables.
Primary Responsibilities
This WordPress position will be responsible for both front- and back-end development, including creating and / or implementing WordPress themes and plug-ins. his position requires a combination of programming skills, primarily PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap. This role supports the various aspects of the website environment, including UX / UI design, availability, reliability, performance, monitoring, and security of the website. Primary functions include website development following the software development lifecycle applying agile and SCRUM methodologies, maintenance, assessment, and providing feedback for improvements.
Work collaboratively with the in-house web development, DevOps, marketing, and communication teams to deliver cutting-edge websites, following a human-centered software development lifecycle from ideation to implementation.
Analyze requirements, assist with design, and other planning activities related to building websites and components
Establish and guide website architecture.
With a service-oriented mentality, high ownership of problems and requests assigned, focus on managing and resolving issues in alignment with the SLAs, establishing and maintaining communication with technology customers to keep them updated with request status.
Ensure high performance, availability, and security, and manage all technical aspects of the site, and content management system (CMS).
Adherence to web development standards, governance processes, and best practices.
Assist with QA testing and bug tracking.
Evolution of skill sets and adaptation to innovative technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in building user interfaces for websites using front-end technologies, including JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and jQuery.
- Familiarity in building websites using WordPress
- Experience in aiding in the design and building of responsive websites with a user-centric design approach.
- Ability to understand CSS changes and ramifications to ensure consistent styling across platforms and browsers.
- Ability to convert comprehensive UX wireframes and UI design layouts into working pages.
- Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML).
- Experience with implementing website security best practices.
- Experience with Salesforce, React, and Ruby on Rails is a plus.
- Previous experience working collaboratively with an agile team including other developers, designers, and marketers.
