What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training & Development Supervisor position at Assurant?
The Training and Development Supervisor plans, organizes and delivers a wide-range of training programs for new hires and existing employees. The training will focus on work processes and procedures, product, systems, sales and customer service. Facilitation of classes will be either face-to-face or one-on-one. The Specialist will participate in Operations meetings and will keep apprised of training needs by interaction with Operational leaders and through review of Quality Assurance evaluations and Dispatch Error summaries. Participates in the analysis of the employee’s specific training needs to make recommendations for developing new programs and on-the-job specific refreshers that help employees maintain and improve their job skills. Additionally, will evaluate training effectiveness to ensure that the training the employee groups receive helps the organization meet its strategic business goals and achieve results. Will create lesson plans for classwork and utilize own knowledge as well as existing media to conduct classes.
This is an onsite role in our Mt. Juliet TN facility.

$48,200.00 - $79,500.00

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
- Conduct training programs in accordance with developed curriculums in a classroom setting
- Conduct training of individuals in a one-on-one scenario on the production floor
- Assist in the development of training programs (develop samples, slides, aids, etc)
- Evaluate training candidate’s ability to demonstrate skills taught during training programs
- Program Support and Maintenance
- Participating in needs assessments
- Identifying content and learning materials to develop programs that align to client specifications
- Requesting updates to training to the appropriate person with appropriate deadlines
- Making necessary changes to lesson plans to improve training for the next time
- Developing tools (lesson plans, job aids, PowerPoint) and implementing by due date using the most effective software
- Coordinates class schedules with appropriate parties
- Orders supplies for classes prior to start date
- Ensures classroom equipment is tested and working properly prior to class start date
- Conducts online surveys for courses
- Maintains training records to include all attendance and system issues
- Records all test scores within one week of class completion
- Compiles quality, performance, and efficiency data to demonstrate the ongoing effectiveness of training modules
- Stays abreast of campaign changes and alerts Managers to ensure that training is in alignment with client’s policies and guidelines
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years training experience in electronics manufacturing
- Minimum Two years facilitation experience in manufacturing environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to quickly learn new programs
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and work independently, or as part of a project team, to complete multiple tasks
- Ability to perform detailed work
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced, dynamic assembly and logistics environment
