Position Summary
The role of Assistant Director of Nursing assumes primary responsibility for the day-to-day clinical operations supporting the home health business. This individual is highly focused on the timely delivery of a compliant, billed claim and operational metrics management. Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations as they apply to the provision of home health services. This role requires expertise in clinical practice, home health conditions of participation, and home health billing requirements. Delegated authority for Director of Nursing position.
Stewardship
- Enforces compliance with company policies and all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies consistently.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date knowledge of Medicare Title 42, Chapter IV, Subchapter G, Part 484 rules, regulations, and conditions of participation annually and as needed.
- Monitors and reports to leadership on KPI benchmarking data regarding Oasis exports, PCR submission and affirmation rates, intake, QA, and clinical management functions.
Customer Experience
- Collaborates with Sales, Marketing, HR, and other leaders regarding referral conversion rates.
- Handles day-to-day second-level escalations regarding admissions, coding, F2F issues, complex medical referral approvals, pre-claim review/ADR, and billing issues.
- Participates in business planning and projects.
Technical Performance and Precision
- Maintains knowledge of Medicare Chapter 10 Home Health Billing requirements, Medicare Advantage, and commercial payer rules regarding home health claims.
- Provides operational oversight of Admissions, QA & Coding, Pre-claim Review, and Clinical Management.
- Oversees auditing of end-to-end processes to ensure consistent and timely case processing (referral to billing) to meet compliance requirements of CMS, Joint Commission, and IDPH.
- Ensures processes and procedures are followed for all accountable work streams.
Learning and Professional Growth
- Counsels staff in a timely manner regarding areas of deficiency and excellence to ensure quality improvement.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, including nurses, therapists, social workers, and case managers, to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to training and education.
- Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or an associate's degree with proven experience.
- A Registered Nurse with a valid state-issued license.
- Clinical experience in home health care, preferably as a registered nurse or in a similar role.
- Certified in OASIS review, coding, and ICD-10 (or willingness to obtain within 2 years of employment).
- Strong knowledge of home health regulations, policies, and procedures.
Technology
- Proficiency in home health software and documentation systems.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Strong computer skills, using general office applications like Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe.
- Must have a private and secure home office space.
- Ability to use the internet for research, communications, training, and portals with minimal outages.
