Assured Information Security (AIS) is looking for a proven leader to join our team as a Director of Business Development - Emerging Defense Technologies! The focus of this position will be building a business to deliver AIS technologies to the Defense and Intelligence market in the National Capital Region (NCR). This is a hybrid position, candidate must be within driving distance of our Catonsville, MD office.
We’re looking for a strategic leader who is capable of developing a portfolio of U. S. Government (USG) Defense and Intelligence customers and programs, transitioning AIS research and development (R&D) to address USG operational requirements and delivering state of the art solutions and professional services. The candidate for this position will have a strong background in the latest technologies of interest to the government such as 5G Communications and Applied Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning solutions.

US Salary Range: $200,000 - $275,000
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package which includes employer paid health insurance and a 7% contribution to your 401k, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.

What You’ll Do
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic planning for the developing Emerging Defense Technologies business working with the SVP D&I. The focus of plans should be on growth of the business line, diversification of the AIS customer base, and strategic capture.
- New Market Planning: Work with the Vice President of Business Development and Director of Sales to identify new markets and develop approach plans for entering new markets and developing new customers.
- Pipeline: Work with the Vice President of Business Development to develop and maintain a pipeline of opportunities for the business unit in accordance with the strategic plan.
- Delivery team development: As business is won, build a delivery team capable of delivering and supporting AIS solutions to operational Defense and Intelligence customers.
- Staff Development: Develop a sales team for the Emerging Defense Technologies line of business. Provide leadership and executive oversight to the team in execution of their duties. Develop annual goals for Business Development Leads and monitor performance, providing mentoring and counselling during the year.
- Oversight: Ensure that periodic reviews are being conducted and that weekly activity reports are submitted for the SVP D&I and COO. Set priorities for key initiatives and resource assignment to develop and grow the business line.
- Technology and Solution Roadmap: Working with the Chief Technology Office and Chief Engineers, identify research opportunities and establish priorities for internal research and development (IR&D) that support the growth of Emerging Defense Technologies Business.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field; Master’s degree is preferred.
- 15 years’ experience leading a government services business units delivering technology solutions to DoD and Intel customers.
- 15 years’ experience in DoD and intel related cyber and/or C5ISR operations.
- 10 years’ experience in government business development planning and execution.
