What You'll Do
Vendor Invoice Management: • Oversee the processing of vendor invoices, reconciliations, ensuring accurate and timely payments in accordance with company policies and procedures. • Review and approve invoice discrepancies and ensure proper resolution of issues.
Leadership and Management: • Supervise and mentor the vendor payables team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective performance. • Conduct performance evaluations, provide training, and develop team members to enhance their skills and career growth.
Process Optimization: • Develop and implement best practices and procedures for vendor invoice processing and payment in the vendor payables system of record. • Identify opportunities to streamline accounts payable processes and improve efficiency.
Customer Service: • Maintain and manage positive interaction with vendors, addressing any payment-related inquiries or issues. • Collaborate with vendors to resolve payment disputes and ensure timely resolution.
Compliance and Controls: • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements related to vendor payments. • Monitor and enforce adherence to company policies and procedures in the accounts payable function.
Reporting and Analysis: • Prepare and review reports related to accounts payable, including aging reports and payment forecasts. • Analyze accounts payable data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
System and Tool Management: • Utilize financial systems and tools to manage vendor payables and ensure accurate record-keeping. • Coordinate with IT and finance teams to implement system enhancements and resolve system issues.

What You'll Need
• Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field, or associate's degree in accounting or a related field. Alternatively, equivalent experience. Relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) preferred. • 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable, or related functions preferred. • At least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role. • Insurance industry experience preferred.
Competencies:
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and payment. • Experience with vendor record creation and collecting set-up documentation.• Proficiency in financial systems and tools, including ERP systems and Microsoft Excel. • Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members. • Effective communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders. • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
