ASSYST is seeking a Cloud Cybersecurity Project Manager for our client in Austin, TX. This is a Hybrid position with 3days remote and 2 days remote. The Project Manager is responsible for managing a complex Cloud Cybersecurity project within the Department of State Health Services (DSHS). This role requires advanced security project management experience, extensive knowledge of web information systems, information systems controls, and web application development. The Project Manager will oversee project planning, budgeting, documentation, and execution while ensuring compliance with the Department of Information Resources (DIR) Project Management Framework and DSHS Security and Information Technology Standards.
Job Title: Cloud Cybersecurity Project Manager
Location: Austin, TX (3 days remote with 2 day (Mondays and Wednesdays))
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, budget, oversee, and document all aspects of the Cloud Cybersecurity project.
- Manage up to three staff augmentation contractors, including an Application/Software Developer and two Network Security Analysts.
- Ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and meets scope requirements while delivering best value for DSHS.
- Coordinate with the Managed Services vendor to oversee project implementation using enterprise portfolio project management software.
- Apply sound judgment, critical thinking, and advanced security project management skills to achieve project goals.
- Independently perform a variety of complex IT tasks when resources are limited, demonstrating creativity and adaptability.
- Maintain compliance with Health and Human Services and DSHS Security and IT Standards.
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years of advanced security project management experience with implementation of a complex Data Loss Prevention (DLP) system, web information systems, and information systems controls.
- 8 years of experience managing large-scale projects related to DLP and vulnerability management applications.
- 8 years of experience managing up to three staff augmentation contractors, including two Network Security Analysts and one Application/Software Developer or Cloud Security Analyst.
- 8 years of experience handling project budgets and timelines using enterprise portfolio project management software.
- 8 years of experience with DIR Project Management Framework, ensuring compliance with Health and Human Services and DSHS Security and IT Standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience designing, building, and securing web information systems using SaaS vulnerability management and DLP applications.
- 5 years of experience independently performing complex IT tasks when resources are limited.
- 3 years of experience working with HHSC Security or Network Engineers at HHSC.
Certification Requirement:
- Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) certification required.
