ASSYST is seeking a skilled Proposal Solution Writer with extensive experience in Cybersecurity, Risk Management Framework (RMF), FISMA, and other Federal compliance standards to join our team. This role involves crafting high-quality, compliant proposals that reflect a deep understanding of cybersecurity requirements and compliance frameworks. The ideal candidate will be adept at technical writing and translating complex concepts into compelling narratives to support ASSYST’s Federal contracting efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to all stages of the proposal development process, from initial planning and strategy to final submission.
- Analyze and interpret RFPs, RFIs, and other solicitation documents to identify client needs, evaluation criteria, and compliance requirements.
- Develop detailed content plans, outlines, and compliance matrices tailored to cybersecurity and compliance-focused proposals.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on RMF, FISMA, NIST Standards, and other cybersecurity frameworks to gather technical information and align with solicitation requirements.
- Write, edit, and refine key proposal sections, including technical approaches, management strategies, resumes, and past performance narratives.
- Perform compliance reviews and gap analyses to ensure adherence to RMF, FISMA, NIST Standards, and other Federal cybersecurity and IT compliance frameworks.
- Oversee and participate in Gate Reviews, compliance checks, and quality control to ensure high standards and accuracy.
- Provide guidance on proposal graphics, ensuring they effectively convey key themes and technical concepts.
- Maintain organized proposal documentation for audits, knowledge sharing, and process improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of proposal templates, processes, and quality standards, with a focus on cybersecurity compliance.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Experience:6 years of experience writing IT-focused documentation, proposals in the Federal GovCon sector, with an emphasis on cybersecurity and compliance.
- Extensive knowledge of RMF, FISMA, NIST Standards (e.g., SP 800-53, SP 800-171), and Federal cybersecurity compliance frameworks.
- Proven ability to translate complex compliance and technical requirements into clear, concise proposal content.
- Successful track record managing multiple proposals, including large, complex efforts, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience as a section lead, author, or coordinator for cybersecurity and IT-focused proposals.
- Familiarity with Federal contracting processes, including RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs.
- Demonstrated expertise in performing compliance and gap analyses for Federal standards, including FISMA and NIST frameworks.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or in a team.
- Experience supporting Gate Reviews, compliance checkpoints, and proposal quality reviews.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity technical writing and the ability to distill technical content into proposal-ready narratives.
