Essential Functions
Medical Underwriting Assistant Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial reviews of insurance applications and identify missing information for follow-up.
- Determine required participation levels for new applications based on underwriting guidelines.
- Assess employer eligibility based on submitted documentation.
- Input employee health information accurately into the underwriting system.
- Manage workflow and monitor progress throughout the underwriting process.
- Maintain and update rating tool based on appropriate risk assessment from underwriter.
- Generate stop-loss insurance documents for new and renewal self-funded business.
- Process agent appointments and ensure timely updates to records.
- Maintain accurate logs for new business and renewal cases.
- Organize and maintain accurate records for underwriting documentation.
- Other ad hoc tasks.
Administrative Assistant Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage business correspondence, including letters, memos, and file documentation.
- Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external email communications.
- Maintain accurate records for documentation.
- Organize, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing email.
- Schedule meetings and provide administrative support to ensure smooth workflow within the team.
- Other ad hoc tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four years of office experience or equivalent college education.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, data collection, and processing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to compose professional business correspondence and respond quickly and clearly to inquiries.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team while independently managing assigned tasks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
