Purpose & Scope:
The Patient Centricity Fellow will report to the Director, Patient Insights and Solutions and will be assigned to work with PInS team members on planning and execution of projects/initiative with Medical and Development, Commercial, Regulatory, Rx , Advanced Information & Analytics (AIA), and other departments.
Fellow will be responsible for execution of projects and interactions with internal and external stakeholders as relevant to the projects. Fellow will use technical, medical, and scientific expertise gained from patient-centric approaches and other pharmaceutical industry training/experience to meet objectives. This position will require some knowledge of multiple areas of patient care, including the ability to research and provide insights into areas such as epidemiology, patient journey, gathering of the patient perspective, digital health, Real-World Evidence (RWE) and others.
The PInS group focuses on developing holistic patient insights and solutions based on the real-world conditions of patients with a particular emphasis on behavioral science, digital/technology use and utilization of Real World Data (RWD). This role will support PInS projects conducted with/for internal Astellas customers across the global enterprise.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Gather patient and caregiver insights for the PInS projects
- Develop a deep understanding of patients, care partners, and other healthcare stakeholders' perspective to support business needs
- Conduct secondary research to develop holistic insights of patients and caregiver needs and barriers
- Assist teams in designing, conducting and analyzing surveys and patient interviews to develop insights of patients in the real-world setting
- Collaborate with Astellas Rx /Digital Health teams to utilize new technologies/wearables to better understand the context in which our patients live in the real-world environment
- Collaborate closely with other Patient Centricity teams to align appropriate patient, patient advocacy and behavior science input for projects
Position reports to Director of Patient Insights and Solutions or above in the (PInS) group within the Patient Centricity Division
Qualifications: Required:
- Typically 0-1 years previous industry or healthcare field related experience
- PharmD. or other advanced science degree
- Ability to apply scientific and/or business knowledge to assigned projects
- Understands compliance concepts as they relate to performing immediate job functions
- Effective writing skills and oral presentation skills
- Ability to understand healthcare environment and apply concepts to perform job function
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools: PowerPoint, Excel
- MBA beneficial
- PhD in scientific discipline
