Paralegal – Healthcare Experience Required
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal with expertise in healthcare law to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist with legal research, document preparation, and compliance matters, ensuring the organization adheres to healthcare regulations and standards. This role is integral to supporting the legal team and contributing to the success of the organization’s healthcare-related operations.
Key Responsibilities :
Conduct thorough research on healthcare laws, regulations, and policies.
Summarize and analyze legal documents, including contracts, case law, and regulatory updates.
Draft, review, and organize legal documents such as contracts, agreements, and compliance reports.
Assist in preparing pleadings, discovery, and other legal filings as required.
Monitor changes in healthcare regulations and advise on their potential impact.
Assist in audits, investigations, and responses to regulatory inquiries.
Maintain and manage healthcare-related contracts, ensuring they are compliant and up to date.
Coordinate with internal departments to track contract timelines and renewals.
Organize and maintain case files, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
Assist attorneys during the litigation process, including trial preparation and discovery.
Maintain and update legal databases and records.
Coordinate meetings, manage schedules, and handle correspondence related to legal matters.
Qualifications :
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field. Paralegal certification is preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on healthcare law or related areas.
Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and CMS guidelines.
Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and contract management software.
Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience working with healthcare providers, hospitals, or long-term care facilities.
Familiarity with risk management and compliance programs in the healthcare sector.
Background in assisting with regulatory filings and healthcare-related litigation.
