Astra is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to join its rapidly growing team in Twin Falls, Idaho. The Senior Controls Engineer is responsible for designing and executing industrial electrical and automation projects, including PLC programming, electrical controls, panel design, ICS networking, SCADA, etc., as well as training EITs. Astra operates in several industries, so the role is very dynamic. Our headquarters is in Twin Falls, Idaho. That said, we are willing to negotiate remote work if an individual currently resides in areas of strategic growth for our company.
Responsibilities
- Design of various industrial controls systems
- Design industrial electrical systems, such as MCCs, electrical distribution, etc.
- Development and management of project plans, schedules, and budgets
- Visit job sites to perform work and troubleshoot controls issues
- Program PLC and HMI systems
- Design of control panels
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
- Proficiency with the AutoCAD Electrical Toolset, particularly with the creation and modification of electrical and controls drawings.
- Skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project
- At least 5 years of experience directly performing ICS and electrical design, including PLC programming, SCADA, and networking.
- Professional Engineer Licensure or sufficient experience to apply for licensure within six months of the date of hire.
