We are seeking a collaborative clinical leader for the Clinical Value and Outcomes (CVO) team as a Payer Oncology Clinical Account Director (Payer Oncology CAD).
As the field-based medical lead, you will develop and execute medical engagement strategies with assigned US payers for AZ's oncology products, building and maintaining strategic relationships with key decision-makers (KDMs). This role supports AZ’s market access strategy by effectively communicating the clinical and economic value of our products, working in partnership with the commercial market access team to ensure optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities
- Oncology Medical Lead: Develop account strategies that showcase the clinical value and unique offerings of AZ’s oncology medicines while understanding payer population-management strategies and evidence needs.
- Account Execution: Build relationships with KDMs to advance AZ's oncology priorities, engage in scientific information exchange to differentiate value proposition for AZ’s oncology medicines, and implement initiatives aligning clinical and AstraZeneca interests.
- Internal Representation: Serve as the oncology payer expert within cross-functional teams, contributing to the development of payer-facing resources while delivering valuable insights to inform market access strategies.
- Advanced Clinical/Science degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD). Applicants with a Scientific Degree (e.g. BS Pharm, Master of Science, BSN, NP, PA, etc.) with extensive market access / industry experience may be considered.
- At least 5 years of scientific work experience in the pharmaceutical industry or managed markets, focusing on payer strategy, clinical practice, or health outcomes.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape, access and reimbursement models, health economics, and clinical outcomes research.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, using storytelling to convey complex information clearly and adapt messages for diverse audiences.
- Experience in oncology; additional training (residency or fellowship) and/or board certification in oncology (BCOP) are advantageous.
- Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MHA, MPH) and significant experience
- in a field liaison role or managed care setting.
- Candidates should be willing to travel at least 70% of the time.
