Position Opportunity
The Process Engineer provides engineering and technical services to Astro Pak colleagues. Services include conceptualization of project scopes, training, creating, and modifying procedures, and on-demand engineering support.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
Conceptualization and Engineering Support
- Provide conceptualization and engineering support to Sales and Operations.
- Review communications and files provided by colleagues and the client including drawings, specifications, and procedural information to prepare a conceptualization of how a given project can be performed.
- Participate in both internal and external reviews and meetings to provide technical advice.
- Help train others that can provide ongoing conceptualization and engineering support.
- Provide engineering support for jobs in progress, markup flow paths, and perform occasional job walks.
- Participate in performing both field and facility audits.
Procedures
Create and modify procedures.Help keep the database of procedures well organized through disciplined adherence to established protocols for its use.Identify and initiate methodology improvements then assist in rollout and acceptance.Train others on Procedures.Technical Training
Participate in training and mentoring of the Field Services Technicians and Project Leaders ensuring that our Field team members are equipped to provide services safely and with excellence.Help review training material content for technical accuracy.Help identify critical competency and knowledge gaps within Astro Pak's Field Services departments.Business & Market Development
Consider participation in relevant industry associations.Participate in identifying potential new market opportunities for services.Work as a trusted advisor with customers to develop creative and constructive solutions to their opportunities.Other

Education / Training / Certifications : Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical Engineering preferable) with subsequent appropriate work experience required. Relevant work experience in the high purity chemical cleaning industry acceptable in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
Related Experience :
Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical cleaning, process design, or process construction.Experience in technical writing such as SOPs or specifications required.Experience in high purity, precision, or industrial cleaning highlyExperience with creating or modifying process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) preferred.Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.30hr OSHA preferred.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
Must be able to manage workload and time effectively while prioritizing tasks to be consistently productive.Capability to analyze situations and make timely decisions using good judgment, clear logic, and common sense.Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, customer relationship management (CRM) software, etc.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry including calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume.Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational abilities.Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines, and to work in a team environment.Skilled at supervising and mentoring other individuals.Must be able to perform analysis of historical data for development of conceptualization metrics / factors and cost proposal justification.Legal capacity to comply with federally mandated requirements of the U.S. Export Control Laws.Travel : Must be willing and able to travel overnight by land and / or air up to 60% of the time
